How to improve data quality

Product data quality is a key factor in your success on sales channels. High-quality data leads to better search visibility, higher conversion rates, and fewer returns. StoreLinkr's Data Quality dashboard helps you identify and fix issues across your entire catalog.

The Data Quality Dashboard

Navigate to Catalog > Data Quality to see an overview of all active quality rules. StoreLinkr automatically scans your products and groups issues into three severity levels:

Severity Levels

LevelDescription
CriticalIssues that may prevent products from being listed or exported (e.g., missing EAN/GTIN or no images).
WarningIssues that reduce performance but don't necessarily block export (e.g., short descriptions or missing brand info).
NoticeSuggestions for further optimization (e.g., missing specific attributes like color or material).

How to Fix Data Issues

The dashboard is designed to be actionable:

  1. Review Rules: Each rule shows a name, a clear description of the issue, and the total number of affected products.
  2. Deep Dive: Click on any rule to open the PIM Products list, automatically filtered to show only the products that violate that specific rule.
  3. Bulk or Manual Edit: From the filtered list, you can edit products individually or use the AI Agent to generate missing content.
  4. Monitor Progress: As you fix issues, the product counts on the Data Quality dashboard will decrease.

Completed Rules

When all products satisfy a specific quality rule, the rule moves to the Completed section at the bottom of the page. Aim to get all your rules into this section with a green checkmark!

Common Quality Rules

While rules can vary depending on your configuration, common checks include:

  • Missing EAN: Products without a valid barcode.
  • Missing Images: Products without any visual representation.
  • Short Title: Titles that are too brief for effective SEO.
  • Empty Description: Products with no descriptive text.
  • Missing Category Mapping: Products that aren't yet linked to a destination category.
tip

If you notice that data isn't being updated as expected, check the System Logs to see if there are any communication errors with your source or destination systems.

Proactive Optimization

Regularly checking the Data Quality dashboard ensures that new products imported from your sources meet your store's standards before they are exported to your sales channels.
