How to manage economic operators (GPSR)
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is an EU requirement designed to ensure that all products sold on the market are safe. Marketplaces such as Bol ask you to name an economic operator for every product you sell: the company in the EU that is responsible for the product, typically the manufacturer, the importer or you as the seller.
Why are economic operators required?
- Compliance: mandatory for selling products in the EU.
- Consumer safety: gives buyers and authorities a contact point for safety issues.
- Marketplace approval: marketplaces may block your offers when this information is missing.
Creating an economic operator
- Go to Marketplaces > Economic operators.
- Click Add economic operator.
- Enter the details:
- Name: the official company name.
- Mail address and Phone number.
- Address: street, number, addition, postal code, city and country.
- Click Add economic operator to save.
As soon as you save an operator, StoreLinkr sends it to your connected marketplaces, so your offers can carry it right away.
The default economic operator
The first economic operator you create (or import) automatically becomes the default. You recognise it by the Default label in the overview.
The default operator is used for every article that does not match the search conditions of another operator. Most sellers only need this one operator: create it once and every offer gets it.
To make a different operator the default, open it and switch on Mark as default economic operator. There is only one default at a time, so the previous default loses the label when you save.
Using a different operator for specific articles
Do some of your products come from a manufacturer or importer that must be named as the operator? Open that operator and add Search conditions:
- Brand: every article of this brand gets this operator.
- Exact EAN: one specific article gets this operator.
When you add several conditions, an article must match all of them.
The operator page lists the active products that match the conditions, so you can check which articles it covers. Articles that match no conditions at all fall back to the default operator.
What is sent to Bol
StoreLinkr sends the matching economic operator with your offers to Bol, both when a new offer is created and when an existing offer is updated. This also applies when you only sync offers (stock, price, condition and reference) and do not send product content to Bol.
The Synced with column in the overview shows on which marketplaces an operator is known. Not synced yet means it has not been sent to any marketplace yet.
Importing operators from Bol
Did you already register your economic operators in your Bol seller account? Choose Sync Now > Import to fetch them into StoreLinkr. Operators you created in StoreLinkr and that were sent to Bol before are recognised and not imported a second time. If you had no default operator yet, the first imported operator becomes the default.
Use Sync Now > Export to send all your operators to your connected marketplaces again, for example after you connected a new marketplace.
Monitoring compliance
The overview shows the number of products per operator, so you can verify that all your items are covered.
