How to manage economic operators (GPSR)
The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is an EU requirement designed to ensure that all products sold on the market are safe. For marketplaces like Bol.com and Amazon, you must provide information about an Economic Operator (typically a manufacturer or importer) for every product you list.
Why are Economic Operators required?
- Compliance: Mandatory for selling products in the EU.
- Consumer Safety: Provides a contact point for safety-related issues.
- Marketplace Approval: Marketplaces may block your listings if this information is missing.
Creating an Economic Operator
- Navigate to Sales Channels > Marketplaces > Economic Operators.
- Click Create Economic Operator.
- Enter the required details:
- Name: The official company name.
- Contact Info: Email address and phone number.
- Physical Address: Street, number, city, postal code, and country.
- Click Create.
Linking to Products
Once an operator is created, you must link it to the relevant products in your catalog. StoreLinkr allows you to:
- Bulk Link: Associate one operator with an entire brand or category.
- Manual Link: Select a specific operator for an individual product in the PIM editor.
Syncing with Marketplaces
- Export: Click Sync Now > Export to push your Economic Operator data to your connected marketplaces.
- Import: If you have already set up operators directly on a marketplace (like Bol.com), click Sync Now > Import to fetch them into StoreLinkr.
Monitoring Compliance
The Economic Operators list shows you the Product Count for each operator, helping you verify that all your items are correctly covered.
