How to exclude facets

In StoreLinkr, "Facets" are the technical specifications and attributes of your products (e.g., "Battery Life", "Material", "Bluetooth Version"). While these are great for SEO, sometimes source data contains messy or irrelevant attributes that you don't want to show to your customers. Exclude Facets allows you to strip these specific attributes from your product exports globally.

Why exclude facets?

  • Data Quality: Remove attributes that are empty, incorrectly formatted, or contain supplier-specific jargon.
  • Brand Consistency: Keep your product specifications clean and focused only on what matters to your customers.
  • Marketplace Requirements: Some marketplaces have limits on the number of attributes you can send; excluding irrelevant ones ensures you stay within those limits.

How to exclude a facet

  1. Navigate to Selection & Markup > Exclude Facets.
  2. Click the Exclude Facet button.
  3. Select Facet: Choose the attribute you want to hide from the dropdown list. This list contains all facets currently imported from your source systems.
  4. Click Exclude Facet.

Managing Exclusions

  • Matches: StoreLinkr displays how many products currently have the excluded facet. This helps you understand the impact of your rule.
  • Source: See which import source (supplier) the facet originated from.
  • Removal: To stop excluding a facet and start showing it in your store again, simply click the Trash icon next to the rule in the overview.

Global Impact

Exclude Facets rules are Global. This means once a facet is excluded, it will be removed from the data sent to all your connected online stores and marketplaces. If you only want to remove an attribute for a specific channel, consider using a Product Selection or channel-specific mapping instead.
